Making Presentations Course

The course aims to enable students to deliver effective and well planned presentations in a confident and engaging way.

The course is for 15 hours (2 weeks). Lessons are for 90 hours a day from Monday to Friday

It is suitable for students with an intermediate or upper intermediate level of English

The course focuses on important steps in making a presentation:

  • understanding audience
  • structuring content
  • preparing visuals
  • preparing handouts
  • openings, transitions and conclusions
  • intonation and pronunciation
  • voice, posture and body language.

It includes the preparation and use of power-point visuals, overhead projectors and flip boards
Classroom learning is done through task based activities after clear models and examples have been provided by the teacher.

Tasks include case studies for discussion and practice

Presentations are practised using laptop computers and screen projection; overhead projectors and flip boards

Students are given a file at the beginning of the course all the course materials are given as the course progresses

Homework tasks are given and students are also expected to prepare presentations for the classroom.
